Any way you can get yer streaming rig to use replaygain tags or something to even out the volume levels of the songs? That would make it even better.

I actually gave that some thought a long time ago, but I was swayed by an opinion I read somewhere that levels being all over the place is truer to the original.

Maybe it was just an excuse to be lazy :).

I'm glad you mention it though as it's something I've been meaning to look into - I'll see what I can find. Hopefully it doesn't mean having to re-encode the entire library as *that* is not gonna happen...
