The Cost was a San Francisco Bay Area band existing between the times of 1999-2003. They released an EP on New Disorder Records, a split 7inch with Canadian punk band d.b.s., an album on Lookout! Records, and were featured on several compilations over the years. They toured extensively on the west coast, mainly in the pacific NW, and also across the United States. The tours were exhausting and often ill-fated, but nevertheless fun, if marginally rewarding. The Cost played their last show at Berkeley's 924 Gilman, the venue they called home, on July 6, 2003.
Members of The Cost were later spotted in Communique and Natomas. Guitarist Sean McArdle went on to record and release solo material.
