greatest hardcore punk band of all time. originally from DC, then movede to NY round 79 80 and release Rock For Light on ROIR cassette I think. Now Doc and Daryl live in woodstock NY and HR is lost somewhere on the streets of LA, Earl is still in DC , i think.
I met Doc and Daryl in Woodstock 1991. They both hang out at my families recording studio APPLEHEAD, located in Woodstock. Doc just did a solo track on my nephews bands record, Coheed and Cambria on Equal Vision.
I haven't seen these guys since they came out and played Maritime Hall in SF bout 3 years ago. But I'll be heading back to NY in sept 03 and will chill and get an update from the brains. Maybe I'll get to see their side band THE DEFIANTS ONES while back in NY.

The first Bad Brains release was named only "Bad Brains" and was originally only released on cassette in 82. It was recently released in a limited vinyl edition. Rock for light was their second album and was released in 83. It was, by the way, produced by Ric Ocasek.....
